Going to Bali has always been one of my dreams ever since living in Hawaii & hearing stories of others going on epic surf trips there. Flights there always seemed to be incredibly pricey, so I put my dream of traveling there on hold. Then one day, I found flights there for $800 round trip (they are usually around $1,600 or more round trip) & I immediately started begging my husband to let me plan a trip there. After making a slideshow of all the places we would go & things we would do, he was convinced! I booked the flight, did lots of planning & 4 months later we were on the trip of a lifetime! If you have been debating going to Bali or not, go! It was such an amazing, breathtakingly beautiful, culturally diverse place to visit. I would go back in a heartbeat!!! Below are the places that we stayed in Bali & what we loved about them! I will be posting more blog posts on our trip including fun things to do & the best places to eat (the food in Bali was AMAZING). This trip was amazing because once we got there everything including places to stay, food to eat, & fun things to do were all soooo cheap! If you can get cheap tickets to Bali you can have the most amazing trip of your life for extremely cheap! Places to Stay: Uluwatu- Lullaby Bungalows -We loved staying at the Lullaby Bungalows. The location & price were both great! We arranged for a driver from the bungalows to pick us up from the airport & even though our flight arrived very late, they were waiting for us when we got there! The bungalows are beautiful & I love the outdoor showers, the beautiful tropical grounds, & the pool! The area where you eat breakfast is so beautiful too! Breakfast is included in your nightly rate & includes a breakfast item such as pancakes or an omelet, fruit, & fresh juice. It is within walking distance from the beach (Padang Padang Beach), many other beautiful beaches, good places to eat, spas, & also close to Uluwatu Temple. We rented a scooter form here & were so glad we did, it was the perfect way to get around & so cheap! Gili Meno- Alix Bungalows -We stayed in this little raised hut for 2 nights & while it looked cute, it had no ac & we were sooo hot! I wouldn't really recommend staying here unless you want a very local experience & you don't mind being very hot & humid. It only cost us $20 a night, which is a plus! We try to balance out our trip by staying in 1 really cheap place & then nicer places the rest of the time so it worked out for us. Most of the places on Gili Meno are very minimal because it is such a tiny island. We loved how small it was though & how it felt like everyone was local. Gili Trawangan- Belukar -After staying in a very hot hut for 2 nights, we were ready to get back to some ac & it was SUCH a nice switch getting to stay at Belukar. We loved the modern, clean feel & being right by the pool so we could dip in for a bit. We ordered lunch by the pool one afternoon & it was so nice & relaxing. Breakfast is also included & I had the best banana pancakes with chocolate syrup every morning! Nate hates cats & this cat kept following him around everywhere, haha!!! Ubud- Honeymoon Guesthouse The Honeymoon Guesthouse will take your break away. The architecture & beautiful grounds are unreal! We were originally supposed to stay here for 3 nights, but extended to 6 because we loved it so much! They have a beautiful pool & it is fun just walking around the grounds & seeing all of the different buildings, statues, & foliage. You can also get massages & spa services for amazing prices. It was about $7 for an hour long massage (prices could have changed since then). I got a massage every single day I was there & loved every one of them (my husband on the other hand said he needed a break from a massage after a few days of having them, crazy man)! I also had body scrubs, a facial, & hot stone massages, all amazing. The room they do the treatments in is not fancy but that didn't bother me! Breakfast was also included here & my favorite thing was getting a chocolate croissant, pineapple juice, & fresh fruit. The location was good, in central Ubud but quiet because it was off the main road.
